Arriving a text message on Antonio Cassano’s phone. Sender: Lionel Messi. This was revealed by the Gazzetta dello Sport in newsstand on Wednesday. The message reads as followed: “Thank you for naming your son after me, in my honor.”

Just two days ago, Lionel Cassano was born. He is the second son of the Bari born player who has named him Lionel “to honor Messi, the greatest player in the world.”

I dislike Barcelona heavily, but this guy is in the history books for good. I just can’t help but get upset at him when I go on Goal.com and there are irrelevant comments all over every page referring to how good he is. It’s bloody annoying!

But he is good!!! He is the ONE ARGENTINE I want to see at Inter!!! (And who knows, one day he might come here!!!)

      • hasse77

If he comes as a bosman or a low figure, with a reasonable wage at max 4-5 million euros a season and produce at least 30 goals a season. Then and only then, I would endure to see Messi in a beautiful Inter shirt.

        • Sina

          YES! This and only this…

Agreed, 120%. I’d like to see if he is as good as the hype in non-Argentinian and Spanish football leagues. Certainly, Cristiano Ronaldo proved himself in England before coming to Spain (not saying he is better, just mentioning the credibility of exposure to leagues).

hopefully one day, when he’s tired of winning with barca, when he’s matured enough and want to gather up with his fellow argentinians he will come knocking at appiano gentile’s front door.

          • Sina

Whenever that’ll come. We’ll keep dreaming to ourselves!

      • Sina

He has openly stated a couple of times that he isn’t interested in Serie A and that he likes Spanish and Argentinian football. Back when De Laurentiis was preparing a €96M offer for him as the ‘Second Coming of Maradona.’

    • hasse77

Exactly, I would like to see if he actually can produce just as good in another team, where he isn’t just playing that type of football which he has learn to play for 12 years now. And the same goes for his other teammates coming from the La Masia. Simply overrated, done bloody well in that scenario but wouldn’t produce a shite in another team.

I was hoping that it wasn’t after Messi Cassano named his son, but it turned out to be so…

      • Sina

He is extremely overrated indeed, and he plays unproven in a league where he has familiarity, as you already mentioned. So… we’ll have to see if he can go elsewhere and produce the same sort of results, but he is scared of ruining his tallies and statistics, or disappointing. This shows that he is not completely confident of himself… I sense an interesting dilemma going on in there!

It sucks that Fanta named his son after Messi; I agree with his wife’s insistence.

      Hahahaha… Still can’t beat grandpa Zanetti…

      • Sina

How many can beat grandpa? He’s a legend in his own rights. I subjectively think that he is the greatest footballer of our universe. I’d probably say the same even if he was a Juventus player. And I am EXTREMELY FORTUNATE that he is ours.

what sina? still hanging on goal.com? :p

      just a joke man.
yeah, messi is the real phenomenon, if you like football and you despite him for being on barca but not at your team than you’re not a good football enthusiast no more.

      • Sina

        You know me… I’m everywhere!

Goal.com is the best place to get your daily dose of a laugh though. And your Messi fix.

        • http://twitter.com/mongkih mongkih

          agreed with you on that

          • Sina

I don’t suppose you comment on there much though, do you? I haven’t seen mongkih on there… it’s best you’re not getting yourself into the clueless mess they have going on in there.

          • http://twitter.com/mongkih mongkih

nah.. i never open that app on my iphone, last login if i’m not wrong was still circulating on sneijder saga. they spoke nothing much about inter

          • Sina

Haha! Indeed, just the usual Barcelona suspects trolling the world about how good Messi is! Glad you haven’t wasted your time for them!

  • http://twitter.com/aldyfu iamsuperman

Lionel Cassano would make the greatest combination! Make sure your heart is black and blue kid just like you dad…

    • Sina

Also make sure that you don’t go around fighting everywhere with a raging temper… much to the dismay… unlike your dad.

      • Just Inter

yes, but can any of you resist the ultimate cuteness of christopher?

        • Sina

HOLY CRAP… LOOKS JUST LIKE DAD. WHEN YOU SEE IT, YOU WILL RELEASE BRICKS.

    • http://twitter.com/mongkih mongkih

and also make sure that you’ll hate black and white stripes with horny cow’s emblem on it. those are for cowards.

      • Sina

They’ve had some Green, White, and Red (Tricolore) away jerseys that I really like. Whether we like it or not, they are the ‘official’ club of Italy. And as far as I’m concerned, there’s no real reason to hate them. They are a fantastic team… and I’m an Inter Ultra myself, saying this. They aren’t facing the same corruption they had back in 2006, and they’ve worked really hard to build their team from the ground up. It’s certainly worked out for them, as we can see.

        • http://twitter.com/mongkih mongkih

well indeed they’re trying hard to rebuild their glory in a fair way, but still history is something hard to forget. each time i remember watching ronaldo crying his heart out on the field, every time i remember how they cheated that season from us, i just can’t rest my hatred toward that team :D my bad sina, my bad :D

          • Sina

I don’t blame you at all, mongkih. You are looking at the team from an entire perspective (with the inclusion of their history), whereas I just look at them as a new team. I don’t see black and white stripes. I see… a new team. New players (other than Buffon, who has all the respect in the world for Inter, anyway… so he’s an amazing lad), new coach, new directors. No cheating, but the scene with Ronaldo is memorable to us in a very deep manner. I just hope we can put all bad blood aside that we still may have from the hard-to-forget past, and play a wonderful game.

          • http://twitter.com/mongkih mongkih

thanks for your understanding and sharing your thoughts sina, i’ll try to be logic and try to view them as they are right now. past is past anyway.
