Talking to Liverpool’s official website, former Inter player Philippe Coutinho reflects on his new adventure and also looks back at his Nerazzurri past.

“I am happy. I am young but I already have a little bit of experience. I am still learning but playing in different countries has helped me a lot. Everyone wants to play in Europe and I was here at 16 years old. I was very young then but I do not regret anything. Making changes was difficult and when I arrived at Inter, there were high expectations from me. Unfortunate it did not work at Inter but I am very happy in England. I hope to do my best for Liverpool.”

we always have our faith on you cou, be a great football star then :)

Yes! And I hope that sometime in the near future, we can use our buyback clause to regain him once he matures into a better player. Sadly for now though, he plays a similar position as Alvarez so he was put on the chopping block for ‘not being needed’ in the team; and as for talent, Kovačić is several steps ahead and also younger. So, we hope Cou can redeem himself!

Say what? Do we have a buyback clause for Coutinho?

        • Sina

From what I saw on Sportitalia and Sky Calcio, yes. I hope it’s true. It makes sense… because Liverpool are paying in increments / installments.

          • hasse77

Oh another thing I didn’t catch up when the transfer went through. How has the installments planned out to being payed to us? 3-5 years?

I had gotten the impression that Liverpool had the money, specially with the upcoming higher tv revenues, to pay us 13 million euro directly.

          • Sina

Something like that… I think it’s 3 seasons. We haven’t even received the first installment yet though.

Hah! Liverpool are SUPER weird. Especially with those new American owners who are trying to bring the club back to 2005 status. They are apparently scouting and interested in outright purchases for FantAntonio and Sanchez. They also want to get Sneijder from Galatasaray next season. Uhhh… yeeeeeaaaah…

Uhhhh Liverpool has overwhelming debt though. And no CL football.

          • Sina

Yep. I seriously don’t know how they’re going to deal with that. Carroll, Suarez, Rodgers… how they can afford to pay those wages baffles my mind.

SMART MOVE by inter management! hoping that it would be true

          • Sina

Sky Calcio is reliable. I don’t think they would make a huge mistake like that! Granted, they are the only agency to report it… so… it’s kind of odd.

      • http://www.facebook.com/sean.sebastian.mula Sean Mula-Clothing Patrick

He was sold because we couldnt find a buyer for alvarez, not because he wasnt needed.

        • Sina

Sean… I hope you’re kidding me, mate. Athletico Madrid and Simeone wanted to option him on a loan-purchase. River Plate and Boca Juniors were working with Inter management, on many attempts to have Alvarez return home to Argentina.

Well, let me put it this way…. we couldnt find a considerable offer for him, only loan to purchases. We definitely could not get 13 million euros for him.

          • Sina

The two Argentinian clubs had offered €11M each for an outright purchase, but as you mentioned, we couldn’t be less pleased with their offers.

Really?? Those are good offers. Maybe they didnt go anywhere because Ricky would rather stay in Europe, more so, at Inter.

          • Sina

That’s definitely one of the few reasons behind the stay.
