While taking a brief moment to cherish and express tribute to the 105th Birthday of Inter with the Inter Channel, President Massimo Moratti embellished on a newfound insight that most supporters can take for granted. In the midst of acknowledging the Moratti family bond with Inter for over 30 of the 105-year-long period, he dove into some more personal perspectives.

“Inter is an exciting emotion. More than a tradition, it is the developed growth of love and criticism that surrounds our team. Our supporters are special. They are sincere and direct. I have felt jealous of them for a very long time. There was a time in my life when I was perfectly like them. In fact, amongst them. Feelings are worth much more than money and so this kind of closeness that I have with Inter makes me feel dragged with a headache because sometimes, I have to focus immensely on calculating the finances for the good of the team and this activity is away from the emotion that you have as a fan. It is tiring to see and speculate difficult financial decisions and during my father’s spell when I was just a fan, I did not have to worry about these things.”

The President then went over the mentality of creating a new team with continuity. “Inter is a responsibility born out of passion. We were rewarded in our adventure during the past, with my father when we possessed great pride. Unfortunately, for my spell, I tend to see the negative problems that affect us and the little positive moments slip away easily, especially because I tend to always think of the future. I remember yesterday, but I don’t live in the past. As a result, I do not think about what happened yesterday. Overall, I have to say that my family remains in the back of my mind, especially my father. I have to stay decisive and lead the team to international standards. Inter is well-known and loved throughout the world.”

The global economic situation has surely differed since Moratti took leadership of the team and in order to return to winning ways, there is a strong desire to concentrate on prospective youth projects and build a model of sustainability for the company that is future-oriented. Moratti notes that “the decision to select Stramaccioni was a challenge in its own way. He has responded positively to the difficulties of his type of role and the pressure that affects him. This year-long development is a significant step in this ‘project of change.’ I think that Andrea knows what to do. He is intelligent, calm, and hopeful. Our current players show a lot of character and admire him as well.” In the past, whenever Moratti has had to discharge a coach, there were almost always complaints from the players (regarding the coach) that had insured the sacking would be supported by the entire group. However, from the looks of it, there are no complaints about Stramaccioni from the team, although he is a subject of dispute amongst the fans.

you envy me….oh please stop it..ur making me blush ;P

I had to change a bunch of parts that were wrong, so this isn’t word-for-word from what the source reported, but it’s more cohesively in line with what Moratti actually reported. And I hope the translation that I did is easier to understand.

this is also the result of the “BIG troubles” you were yesterday ;) i like to see you, a competently and nice nerazzurri, as a new moderator of this site. wish you all the best and hope you’ll have fun (i have). greetz from switzerland

      • Sina

Haha! Indeed… I shouldn’t have made too many of those kissing jokes or else, things like this happen! *Tsk Tsk* You never know. Thanks for your generous and heart-warming regards. I have yet to respond to your [long] posts on the other thread, but I will get to them. I absolutely loved the insight you brought forth. Are you from Zurich? Greets from Italy!

CONGRATS on your new role on the site! From Indonesia.

          • Sina

A huge thanks for the kind ‘welcome’!

        • 1908

haha! now you have to go through :D no, i live in bern. a quarter of my blood is from italy :) but unfortunately i can’t speak italian. do you live in milano? ………kiss (lol)

          • Sina

Bern? Ah… beautiful town. I have a friend who lives there so I visit periodically. No worries, if you are familiar with French (I am assuming you know German instead, as-is with most folks in Bern), Italian is no harder to learn. Very cool! I used to live in Milano, but now I live in a commune of Modena (where most of the Italian exotic cars in the world are made).

          • 1908

my father failed to teach me, but now my girlfriend does :) yes everybody here is familiar to french and it’s not a long way to the italian language because of the same roots. yes of course, i think modena is a term for everyone, at least for me, especially because of ferrari. right no ferrari and lamborghini are presenting their new models in geneva. but back to football :)

          • Sina

That’s wonderful… you must have an awesome girlfriend! Yes… you’re exactly right. Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Pagani, the latter where I work at. It’s an intriguing place to live. Geneva is serving very well for Modena, but the McLaren P1 has also stolen the show. And that other Italian car that ISN’T from Modena… in fact, it’s Milanese! The Alfa 4C (which I’m saving up for… hopefully a Launch Edition to-be-booked). Back to football? Works for me!

          • 1908

yes she is….and her family are nerazzurri (outside her uncle) :D ah pagani, i even know pagani! i bought one as a young kid in gran turismo 3 lol. but never seen one in real life :) today i’m playing exclusively pro evolution. i googled c4 right now. looks nice. reminds me of fiat’s “coupe”, not in the look, just the way that they also developded a sport car. i hope you will get your c4 soon and you will choose a black or blue one :P

          • Sina

How special (or speziale, as we like to say)… an ‘Inter’ family in Switzerland! Pagani is a spectacle to behold in real life. You will be spending at least 4 minutes just walking around, embracing, and admiring every single curve that’s bespoked into its smooth body (pun intended).

I like the 4C because it’s the cheapest car in the world to have a carbon fiber monocoque tub (the chassis). And the cheapest Italian supercar. Also, I believe that it’s what Alfas should have been before they became hot hatches. Alfa, though defunct and no longer in existence as a racing team, still holds the record for the most victories ever. Enzo Ferrari used to race for Alfa Romeo for a number of lengthy years. You wouldn’t believe it… but you’ll hate me for this! In my booking, I have chosen Alfa Rosso for the color.

          • 1908

yes very special, i couldn’t believe it first. they are crazy about football. i’m not an expert, but i think the carbon makes the car very lightly. funny how you describe you’re feelings when looking to the curves of a beautiful car, like we feel if we see a beautiful woman :D you have blue and black blood, but also gas in it i would say :) such design can just come from italy, i just thinking of pininfarina (and don’t forget the food)…i won’t live in a world without your influence :D and if i would buy an alfa then for sure in red too :D so, my time’s running, i have to stop for today!

          • Sina

            That’s an awesome family!

Yep… you’re spot-on. Carbon Fiber is the lightest, but at the same time, most rigid technology available right now (for mainstream, commercial use, at least) and you will see it in everywhere from Formula 1 cars to space aircraft. It is also the most expensive to make (out of aluminum, steel, composite materials, plastics, titanium, magnesium, etc.).

That’s what I was relating it to! Beautiful, ’tis! Curvaceous… vivacious. Woooh!

I like the way you said it…. black and blue blood, with a bit of petrol! I guess it is an Italian way. It’s odd how many colors we have. The green-white-red tricolore is used everywhere exclusively. In the sports world (rugby, football, basketball), we wear blue. In motoring and racing, we are red (did you know that there are Official International Racing Colors? Britain is Green… hence British Racing Green, Germany is Silver, France is Blue, Italy is Corsa Rosso (Racing Red or Fury Red)… so we have most of our high prestige cars in red. I have been told that we are unparalleled when it comes to design of all things, but there is always a trade-off, of course. If you have a look at our reliability, that’s where you start to see major problems!

I find that marvelous too… how Italian and French cuisine have changed the world. Sadly, when people think Italian cuisine in America, all they think of is Pepperoni Pizza, Caesar Salad, and Macaroni ‘n’ Cheese… none of which are actually Italian. I have traveled the world and love every place its own way for their detailed attention to food… but the little things like the unreal taste behind some Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale from Modena served with wood-smoked Mozzarella Cheese and Prosciutto di Parma Originale… that’s something speziale!

            Take it easy, amico mio!

          • Manuel

at tuesday me and my father go to geneva! if i see the c4 i will make some pictures for you sina! if possible i’ll take some shots from inside or maybe i can take some from the engine! I will see!

no, i always thought that the colors of racing teams were chosen because of the car-make! ah nice to know! that means if lamborgihini would enter formula “uno” then they would also drive in red colors? or is this formula not a good example? is it just in formulas with regular series cars?

an american “pizza” is not even the same thing like one from italy. the americans hasn’t any culture with respect to food. for me it’s the same, i love to try different food from around the globe, but at the end nothing goes over your cuisine! wood-smoked mozzarella?! :D i never heard about that! sounds good! here you have to go on a yourney to find some morzarella buffalo! i saw that modena is near parma, then you have the best prosciutto just around the corner! i envy you! :D and there are many many more products we just can dream for :)

          • Sina

Ah… that would be extremely generous of you, Manuel! Thank you so much for the gesture! From what I have seen on many car blogs the interior is locked. There are only two pictures of it online (I don’t know why they would not open the doors because this is not a concept car, it is a production car that is being manufactured presently). The engine and the interior… wow! The only two things that I haven’t seen! We will find out… if you aren’t able to, don’t worry about it… it can be seen in dealerships when available.

No, you’re right… the colors of the racing teams are determined by the group. However, the official colors are there so that the suggestions can be followed by the manufacturer (and they have always been). Here are the ones: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_international_auto_racing_colors

Yes… whenever Lamborghini races in FIA / GT / Le Mans, they have red liveries… usually Pirelli is their sponsor (same sponsor as Inter… woohoo)! A great example, Manuel! In Formula Racing and in regular Series… but the colors are more prominently followed in F1.

I agree with you 120%! I hate to put down the Americans… and that’s not what I do… but when I used to live in Los Angeles and San Francisco, they were ignorant about food. The greatest things to hit their culture was salt, sugar, and fat. It seemed like that’s all they looked for when they wanted to eat. And Americans tend to think that Italians only have pasta and pizza, but the total number of pizzas and pastas combined is not even 10% of our total cuisine. There is much variety… and it’s good to know where to go. Usually, Americans have the Neapolitan influence from Sicily (in New York, during the Mafioso days), so they see only a small and narrow perspective. There’s something very special about attention-to-detail in European foods that I don’t see in America, unless you go to their high-priced restaurants that are very prestigious, but even those foods, their highest quality foods, are the ‘average’ of what we have. I don’t like to generalize about the Americans of course… but this was the observation. There is nothing shy of phenomenal for Swiss cuisine as well. We should be extremely grateful for what we have and who we are!

Wood-smoked mozzarella, indeed! It’s a bit rich, so you only have about the size of a USB drive for eating with other foods… can be good as hors d’ouevres or dessert with some smooth wine. Mozzarella Buffalo? It is everywhere here! The best thing about Italy that I didn’t see in America was… “Nature” in food. In America, tons of things are processed, and even the fresh foods were messed around with (hormones, improper treatment, inorganic) and the ones that were truly natural were a bit bland, as if they didn’t taste right. In Europe, thankfully… we don’t have these farming issues where there’s a lot of corporate funding going into producing more low-quality goods and as a result, relatively most of the stuff is natural. And even better are the naturally-aged foods here, like 30-year-old balsamic vinegars, wines, aged meats… even a month-aged sirloin steak with tons of flavor! Awesome stuff! Yes, Modena and Parma are both in Emilia-Romagna part of Italy, so things are close here (not as close as they are in Switzerland)! Perhaps I may visit Bern sometime in the near future and we can have some tea/coffee/gelato and I will buy along the way some fresh mozzarella buffalo and prosciutto originale (do you also like mortadella w/ pistachios and garlic?) and we can have a chat about all sorts of things… be it Inter, cars, food, etc.!

          • Manuel

ah los angeles and san francisco, now i know the reason of your brilliant english.

what salt, sugar and fat means for us-americans, means garlic for me! it’s hard to find a receipt where i wouldn’t put garlic in! garlic is gift of god! i think you also know spaghetti aglio e olio :) (or is this maybe a suisse invention of pseud italian cuisine?) and pistachios are the best sort of nuts in my mind! last summer i found roasted and peppered pistachios! the normal ones are good as well, but if you can buy some with pepper, then try them, they’re awesome. and my cold meat favorites are salame and mortadella! you made me so greedy of wood smoked mozzarella! :D i googled it and it looks like nice and seems to be a delicacy. i think it’s not easy to find some here, but i know two or three places where i will try to get some! oh it’s so hard to talk about this foodstuffs, becuase of knowing that every piece is doubly delicious in italy. i was man times in italy with my family when i was young and my parents never went with us children in this tourist-restaurants. when you wanna eat some good food, then you have to eat there, where the natives are eating :D i could also tell you a good example of that, when i was in nice sometimes…

i like your views of the world around you. you seems to be a globetrotter and a gourmet. a world opened and likeable guy. simply an interisti :D so for sure, when you will visit bern in future, then i would love to meet you and having a chat face to face. but better not with gelato, you would be disappointed :D you don’t find the same gelati here i guess. the best gelato in my whole life i will never forget, this was in genoa in a gelateria by the port. i was very young, but i can’t forget this creamy, fluffy, tasty and delicious chocolate gelato

shit now i’m hungry :) and i should sleep at the latest! it’s 3 o’clock! i wanted take position to all themes you wrote, but now i’m forced to stop and try to sleep.

            Ferrari <3

          • Sina

Is that your favorite? There are three more automobili here!

          • Solberg – Norway

My favourite is actually lambo :) what is the 3rd?

          • Sina

Well, three more automobili in addition to Ferrari means that there are 4 in total, actually. So you only didn’t mention Maserati and Pagani! You got the big 2 down.

          • Solberg – Norway

I had completly forgot those two. I like maserati a lot though

          • Sina

            GranTurismo?

          • Solberg – Norway

That is an awesome car! :)

          • Sina

Yes… I like the MC Stradale!

          • Solberg – Norway

The one that is even more tuned and with the, imo, finest chassis. Wouldnt mind driving that car to work

          • Sina

It is! Uses the same engine out of a Ferrari F430. The updated GranTurismo for 2014 will have the same one from the new 458 Italia. What a lovely way to drive home every evening. Any possible misery from work will be forgotten!

          • Solberg – Norway

            Hehe, thats for sure :)

nice job sina.thanks for making yourself available for us.congratulation and keep up the good work

“Our current players show a lot of character and admire him as wel” – Our CURRENT players!! hehehe – if you don’t delever you’ll be out of here in the sumer!!

    • Sina

The original actually said “Our players,” but I translated it and added the ‘current’… as the sentence was already in present tense, and so I’m sure that he meant and was talking about the present-day team.
