After the perhaps incorrectly-framed “irreversibly damaged” relationship between Antonio Cassano and Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni, many media sources speculated that Cassano had gained weight and was not performing as optimally as his consistency had previously determined. In the press conference today for the Bologna matchup, Stramaccioni downplayed that such is true. “Cassano is overweight? No. In fact, he is fit. I am absolutely positive about this. I really cannot confirm any of these reports. They want to psychologically step on Inter and destroy our mentality in many regards, whether it be the league table or the latest results. Antonio is an evident part of our future for next year.”
