Mario Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola has a few things to say to Sky before the match with Lazio.

“Mario is well and is recovering. Derby? Handanovic played a great game and it is difficult for him to repeat an evening like that again. I think that Mario played well in the derby but certainly he was sorry that he could not score. Cassano? He has his own agent. I do not know what happened and will not comment on the events that occurred in someone else’s home.”

well he did more spectacular saves this season, so saying he would not have a match like that is a mistake. That guy consistently saved very difficult balls that should have been goals. I am glad we signed him cause he is a beast.

Absolutely agreed! The slightest only thing that bothers me is his age, which isn’t exactly youthful. I remember when Julio was in-form at this age as well, and then it all went downhill from there. I hope we don’t see that with Handa as soon enough.

That’s why we have Bardi. The thing is, the momment Handa starts losing form it’s time to bench him right away and use bardi, we can’t prolong his starting line up time just because he’s a nice guy or because in the past (now) he was doing great. He must be played only until he’s at his top performance, then it’s Bardi’s time to shine.

        • Sina

Inter Youth, for the win! I see the goalkeeping position as a bit ecstatic though because it’s like we have a surplus currently. Bardi, Belec, and Di Gennaro from Primavera, and then… there is also Carrizo. Are we a tad bit oversupplied, by any chance perhaps? I know we’re using Handa and Bardi in a similar way that we handled with the Toldo / Julio situation.

          • Rafael Vieri

Yes, but sadly we didn’t handle that well with the JC/ Viviano situation. We decided to keep JC which was going downhil every since his mistake on the World cup in 2010 and let the talented Viviano Go. Then Julio also had to leave but we didn’t have the proper number 1 goalkeeper. Handanovic was a great signing , but was expensive. If we had used Viviano, like we should have, a lot of money could have been spared or perhaps reinvested on other players.

That’s why I don’t want Inter to make again the same mistake. Castellazzi has to go, even though he’s awesome. Carrizo can stay for 2 or 3 seasons while we still use the best of handanovic and let Bardi Develop but then it’s time to see Bardi take the number 1 shirt.

          • Sina

Without a doubt, yes. Viviano is still an Intersiti as he hugged and talked with the whole team in the hallway of the dressing room when we were in Firenze, something he doesn’t do at all with opponents. It does suck the way we treated him, and from all that you taught me, I am finally glad that JC left. Handa received his buffer yellow card today (showing extreme aggression again and shoving after being intimidated… yet again) so we will be playing with Carrizo against Bologna next week. Should be interesting. Hope Diamanti doesn’t strike through… we need our points if we want to keep up with Milan! And I still wonder if the €11.5M we spent on Handa is the most Inter has ever spent on a goalkeeper…

Probably he really was the most expensive goalkeeper of our history. At least among the recent ones, Frey and Julio came almost for free, Fabian Carini came for free as part of Cannavaro’s deal. We use Frey to get Toldo, and we signed Castellazzi and Orlandoni on a free transfer. Carrizzo costed close To nothing and Viviano was a part of the cownership deal that actually gave inter profit, but we lost a true Talent. So yes, Handanovic was really expensive for a goalkeeper…and he is a great keeper who deserves our praises and respects, but he has a short temper, which can be determinant for a goalkeeper because his sent of from a game would definetely costs us more than a player, it will be a penalty and a loss of quality. It’s not uncommon that a team has 3 or 4 great central defenders, but it’s rare to see a team which the reserve goal keeper is as good as the starter one, which we had with Toldo/JC but not with Handa/Carrizo, so it’s better that handa controls himself.

But I agree with you, it should be interesting to see Carrizo play once this season. At River, he was impressive, so who knows,..

(I guess I still feel sorry for viviano. He’s young, italian, interista and talented, it’s the kind of player we’ll always need, but when we get our hands on, we don’t show them appreciation..it’s a pity).

He will last longer than JC did. Julio relied almost exclisively on his agility. Handanovic is more like a Van Der Sar, a tall keeper that even when he loses some agility still has good reach.

        • Sina

Great analysis. I hope this is the case… though I also yearn for Handa to have more potential than Van Der Sar did. Interesting though, how Rano is taller than Handa. Of course, height plays into account, but with a lack thereof agility, what kept Handa from being such a great penalty saver in his time at Udine? Can’t be the reach alone, can it?

    Raiola is a fat fagg!

  • ororo

you don’t have to worry about Handanovic, Raiola. The chance of Balotelli missing the match against inter because of injury or suspension is way higher

  • Lucas

You are right Mino, he will do only better.

Notify the Oxford Language Dictionary, ‘difficult’ is synonym to ‘never’ (Sheldon style) :D
