Massimo Moratti is keeping Inter’s probable new signing, John Carew, waiting: “Tomorrow he’ll have his medical and then he’ll be here for a 2-week trial period. Then we’ll see. In terms of being a star name and in terms of what he’s achieved in his career, he could be the perfect signing. We’ll see if he’s in good form to allow us to rest players in the league, because you never know what’s around the corner.” The Inter president commented on the possible arrival of the Norwegian forward before an Inter board meeting.
Bale and Rocchi — He isn’t eligible to play in the Europa League, where Inter next take on Tottenham and Gareth Bale (“He’s a very good player and he always scores in the 90th minute. We have to keep an eye on him,” Moratti commented) so the new signing could knock Tommaso Rocchi even further down the pecking order: “He hasn’t been used that often yet as, unfortunately, he isn’t able to play in UEFA (sic) and last Sunday we needed a different type of player. But the coach has said he’s training well, so we’re happy.”
