John Carew and Inter are closer and closer. Here is Gianluca Di Marzio updating us on the latest situation of the 33 year-old Norwegian striker who is a free agent.
“Carew has not played since last summer and he moved to Miami. Inter did not seem willing to sign a free agent at first but in the last hours, the assessment of Carew has taken serious shape. For physical characteristics, Carew is considered necessary for a striker like this and contacts are underway with his agent. Inter, however, before want to do anything else, want to evaluate the player’s overall shape and physical condition. It is expected that Carew will be in Milan Tuesday or the next few days to have medical exams. He has given given assurances to Inter management on the phone (that he is in shape) but of course, a physical test is needed. For Inter, this is a concrete possibility.”
Meanwhile the Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that there is already an agreement between all parties, that of Carew and Inter. The player is expected to be in Milan today to continue working out the last few details of this operation.
Word is that the player will sign a short-term contract until June for a fee of 300 thousand euros.
