Massimo Moratti earlier today defended Stramaccioni after the embarrassing defeat against Fiorentina. The coach said that he takes full responsibility but Inter president believed that he does not deserve all the blame.

Massimiliano Nebuloni, known Sky journalist, has the following to say: “President Moratti is defending Stramaccioni in a way that perhaps he had never done before with other coaches. He is doing well to give validity and strength to the team a little bit like Milan did with Allegri in the most difficult times in the red and black shirt. It is important to do so with a young coach. Was there a frank discussion between the president and the coach after what happened yesterday? Maybe there was off cameras. In front of cameras, the president eases off this delicate situation a bit.”

I think Moratti realizes Strama may be his last chance to develop a stable project for the future. It’s well known he wants to hand the club down to his son, but won’t want to leave the club without some stability.

  • Sina

Perhaps Massimo has said in the past that “Gasperini’s position is safe” and that “Ranieri will not leave,” only to sack them a week later, but this time… it is really different. This time, Strama is really here to stay. Why? Moratti is tired of saying the same thing for every coach that he assigns, and he sees similarities from Mou’s characteristics and compassion within Strama, who are both Interisti, unlike Gasperini, Benitez, Leonardo, or Ranieri. The two are as close as can be off-the-pitch and it is difficult for him to sack Strama. And as @c6695c2872291f1d55c429307a369e85:disqus mentioned, this is one chance you’ve got at developing the youth project… and it takes an unexperienced coach to do it, because the experienced ones resign, go to China and Russia for money, or want to be in Spain or England where apparently “all the action is happening.” The stability will come with time. I remember half of the people bashing Strama now are the same ones who were exclaiming “GRANDE STRAMA!” after the Juve game finished. They don’t know what life is like. There’s a rollercoaster everywhere. You cannot win or lose all the time… there’s balance. Barça is winning it all… but in 15 years when they don’t have Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro, Messi and are relying only on their Youth project, they’ll be average.

There’s no way strama similar with Mou.At the same age,Mou already have more knowledge than Strama.Mou have good mentor in Bobby Robson, and who might be Strama mentor???Mou stay at Appiano until 10PM,for watching DVD & analizying oponent movement,Mou silently go to stadium to study opponent …It’s no comparison…

      • Sina

Well, this is coming from a person who thinks that Strama is overrated without experiencing what coaching is like for himself, so you are definitely just judging. It’s not like I said that I think Strama is Godly… I’m just saying that Moratti likes the guy, his wages are low enough, and he is up-and-coming to be a pretty lethal coach in some games against extremely experienced veterans. Even Mou has drawn comparisons towards himself with Strama, just as Moratti has done.

“Mou have good mentor in Bobby Robson, and who might be Strama mentor???Mou stay at Appiano until 10PM,for watching DVD & analizying oponent movement,Mou silently go to stadium to study opponent …It’s no comparison…”

Dude, how do you know any of this isn’t true for Strama? That’s just criticizing without knowing properly. Think before you speak. Strama may work ten times harder than Mou, but could be more personal and less revealing of what he does, whereas Mou is always open, openly sharing his swearing on other coaches and bashing people. Two different personalities… you shouldn’t compare them like that.

just pointing out that Moratti judgment isn’t that reliable at all.Remember bunch of average coach he choosed, from Hodgson,Luigi Simoni,Lucescu,Tardelli,Cupper.Mancini was choosen by Facchetti when he was the president, and he build the foundation of the treble team. This chaotic thing right now is precisely what happen before Facchetti become president.Remember 2001 losing 6-0 to Milan??History might repeat it self.

          • interdude

history might not repeat itself, history is repeating itself

          • casperv

Actuly Hector Cuper build the foundation for our trible – it was his ideas Mancini builded untop and Mou made almost perfect; keeping balance with a strong well organised deffens og counter attacking teams! The players brought were all tall, strong fighters that could run like the sun, but wasn’t creative at all (all besides Sneijder and Zlatan).

  • Ognjen Dakic

    Sack him

  • BULLET

I might get heat for this but oh-well. I believe Strama is NOT the right guy for this team. He has very limited technical ability on how to adjust the team when things don’t go according to plan. He just isn’t ready for a team like Inter. A team that NEEDS CL every year to survive financially. He just doesn’t have the coaching experience to manage a team like Inter. Sorry, but we seriously need to think about a new coach in the summer. As much as I hate saying this, I really do, because I like Strama. He needs to go. Our team has never put on a “no-show” like they did vs. Fiorentina when Mou was coaching.

    • Nick Jansen

I somewhat agree with you, Strama might be more of a “behind the coach” guy an assistant coach, then it is very posible that in a couple of years he could be a head coach, he simply is too inexperienced at the moment, but undboubtable someone who will win loads of trophies in the future

  • http://twitter.com/trinitym234 trinitym234

Strama is overated. And the one that responsible inflating him is Moratti,by drawing similarity with mou bla.bla.bla..Remember Moratti choice in the past from Roy Hodgson (average coach),Luigi Simoni (where he is now?),Mircea Lucescu (at that time unknown and now only a so so),Marco Tardelli(??),Hector Cuper (what club he coach right now??).The only coach that gave stability only Mancini and Mou

  • Rafael Vieri

A stable project can be developed as long as Moratti keeps his faith on any coach that is at Inter. I wouldn’t sack stramma until the end of the season. Let him do his job and, after the season ends, we’ll avaluate and see if he deserves more time or not.

That said, I really think one of the reasons Strammacioni wasn’t fired is because he has the lowest wage of a coach in serie A. Firing him would mean to spend way more money with a new coach, and apparently, Inter is not willing to do that. The other reason is that we just bought players that suit stramma’s style of play. What would we do if we sack him and the next coach sees no future for Kovacic and Kuzmanovic, for example?. That would turn those players on a waste of money. It’s kindda what Stramma is doing to Alvarez, but it would be way worse if the next coach do the same with more of our players.

I say keep stramma and let’s hope he starts fielding Alvarez and Kovacic as playmakers and Guarin as a defensive Mid, that alone would help a lot.

Despite that loss I still believe in him cz he’s shown he has potential I and vision. In my opinion Morrati did the right thing.

  • Drac1753

Bring back Mou and make Strama his assistant

    • qwerty

The best idea! Strama still need a mentor. If he can stick with Mourinho for at least five years, he could learn anything to become one of the best managers like his mentor. Strama is a potential manager, but that’s it. He needs someone to help him improve his tactical awareness and flexibility. Mou can mentor him.

      • 1nteristi

I dont think mou would want that

    • Fredy

Strama being assistant would be good then. Either we get Blanc or Mou I’m satisfied, but Mou is top priority

  • Demon

Strama Is a good person but to be honest he lacks experience and even personality to steer a big club like Inter ,I don’t think it’s a good idea to keep him he needs to gain expnstarting with small teams Inter is a big Club we aim always high and that’s why we need a big coach

  • RobinsonRobban

Take in Simeone or Blanc after this season. Blanc is free now and Simeones contract expiers after this season. Both are much better then Strama and both is former Inter players who nows what it takes to play in a big club like Inter, Strama dose not know what it takes if he did know he wold not play Kuzmanovic so much, Kuzmanovic i overweight and slower then Cambiasso and can not reed the game nearly as good. Kuzmanovic mayve can be godd next season after dropping 5-6 kilos but now he should not play.

I we loose agains Cluj or Milan take in Figo or Baresi for the rest of the season and then take Blanc or Simeoni and start a real project with a good coach with experience from big jobs before.

  • Xahi

    Not Stramaccioni’s fault. Forza Stramccioni.

  • La beneamata

I think Strama should say these words to fire up all the player at dressing room before the match start. this quote is from any given sunday movie. like al pacino said

” The biggest battle of our professional lives, all comes down to today. Now either, we heal as a team, or we’re gonna crumble. Inch by inch, play by play, till we’re finished. We’re in hell right now, gentlemen.
Believe me. And, we can stay here and get the shit kicked out of us. Or, we can fight our way back … into the light. We can climb out of hell.
    One inch, at a time.
You know, when you get old in life, things get taken from you. That’s part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff. You find out life’s this game of inches. So is football.
Because in either game, life or football, the margin for error is so small. I mean, One half step too late or too early, and you don’t quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast, you don’t quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They’re in ever break of the game. Every minute, every second. On this team, we fight for that inch.
On this team, we tear ourselves, and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our finger nails for that inch! Because we know, when we add up all those inches,
that’s gonna make the fucking difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying! I’ll tell you this: In any fight, it’s the guy who’s willing to die who’s gonna win that inch.
And I know, if I’m gonna have any life anymore, it’s because, I’m still willing to fight and die for that inch. Because that’s what living is!
The six inches in front of your face! Now I can’t make you do it!
You gotta look at the guy next to you. Look into his eyes! Now I think
    you’re gonna see a guy
who will go that inch with you.
    You’re gonna see a guy
who will sacrifice himself for this team
because he knows when it comes down to it, you’re gonna do the same for him.
    That’s a team, gentlemen.
And, either we heal – now! – as a team! Or we will die as individuals.
That’s football guys. That’s all it is.

Now, what are you gonna do?
