Massimo Moratti: “Paulinho Deal Postponed Until June. Icardi Has Characteristics That Fit Us Well”

Talking to Sport Mediaset before the Europa League match between Inter and Cluj, Massimo Moratti touches on different subjects, one of which is the transfer market for June.

“I cannot get in the head of the coach but it is clear that based on the formation, this match is considered very important. I am curious to see Kovacic. His arrival was linked to that of Paulinho because I was not very convinced (in acquiring Paulinho).  They used to say that boy was a gem, it wasn’t a sensational signing, more of a risk but in line with our project and strategy towards a young team, especially since the Paulinho signing was postponed until June. Icardi? He’s great, he has all the qualities to do well with us. Anyway, he’s arrival is Inter’s business, nobody else’s.”

      Not only that, but after we wrap up Icardi, we would be smart to get AT LEAST one more top attacker this summer, if not two. Even if we keep Milito and he remains healthy after his injury (which may be unlikely), we would still need an extra attacker to rotate in. We are so thin up front it’s ridiculous. And I’m not convinced Longo/Livaja are ready for the big time.

      Hopefully those rumors of us splashing some cash on a big-time attacking wing come to fruition.

    Indeed we got the gem, good ball skills, good vision, good pace…and he leave the pitch with happy face tonight..and now i consider gargano as a compatible mf with him, with high work rate and willingness to burst forward he looks suitable enough for 3 mf formation, but we still have to try kuz, or maybe kuz replacing chuchu, guarin is better up front, because the way he dribbles the ball is dangerous (jut like torino case).

    Signing someone in the summer is not the issue. Being without Milito in this crucial month is… we play Fiorentina and Milan, 2 contenders for the upper part of the table….. shit shit shit, how could we lose Milito just now…………….
