Giuseppe Bergomi, in an interview with the Gazzetta dello Sport, touches on this difficult moment that Andrea Stramaccioni is experiencing at Inter.
“I think that it is right to give the coach confidence because it was the president who wanted him. It is true that other coaches were sacked for much less but this is the choice of Massimo Moratti who did the transfer window on Stramaccioni’s requests.
“Adjustments that Stramaccioni can make? One thing is that he does not need to change formations continuously. Other great coaches usually have one defined system and if he believes in a three-man defense then should not finish matches with four defenders as happened recently.
“Right to play the new players right away? He must have courage in his choices. Schelotto’s situation is not a problem of fitness but he must be used in the right conditions to play his best. At Atalanta, he almost always played in a 4-4-1-1. He had just arrived and debuted in a 3-4-1-2 or 3-5-2 so he was likely to be affected.”
