After being rejected for the second time by Corinthians midfielder Paulinho, Inter decided to react by acquiring one of the best young talents in the world of football in 18 year-old Mateo Kovacic, a decision which FIFA agent Roberta Concas believes is a good one.
“Kovacic is a kid with enormous potential, very technical, talented, fast, and has great dribbling skills. Perhaps he is a mix of Boban and Moric with a touch more of creativity. His role? He was born a midfielder, perfect in a midfield of three or five. But with quick thinking and excellent vision, these are the two qualities that allow him to play as a plamaker, the role that he played at Dinamo and got great results. I know that Inter followed him for a couple of years and the blitz (by Inter) was dictated by the negative outcome of Paulinho negotiations but the player was already known at Inter. The hesitance of the Corinthians midfielder drove Moratti to focus immediately on Kovacic, perhaps less famous than the Brazilian due to his young age and the Croatian league, but Kovacic is definitely stronger technically.”
According to Concas, Kovacic already has all the attributes to be able to get playing time in the starting lineup.
“Technical qualities and characters, he has them all but of course, we need to give him necessary time to become accustomed to the Italian league even if this young talent may very well play for Stramaccioni’s Inter as a starter. It is important for Inter to focus on him without any hesitation like PSG are doing with Verrati.”
