It was a very busy day at Inter. In just a matter of 24 hours, Inter wrapped up four important signings which are all ready to contribute right away. Schelotto should be a regular contributor, Kuzmanovic is a great deal given his price tag while Diego Laxalt is a big unknown but he is certain talented. Without question, the biggest signing and one that has the most buzz is now former Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Mateo Kovacic. Inter were able to strike a deal at the speed of light to guarantee one of the biggest talents around Europe will wear the Inter shirt for many years to come.
Other than a huge price tag for a 18 year-old, Inter also had to beat out strong competition from all major leagues to get Kovacic’s signature. According to Alfredo Pedulla, “He was born in 1994 and is considered to be the new Modric. This is a huge operation, very expensive: a base of at least 10 million, with bonuses, it could be up to 15 million. Kovacic, some time ago, was followed by Juventus and liked by the most prestigious clubs in England. Inter beat all competition.”
