In his Serie A debut, not only Marco Benassi passed with flying colors but he was arguably one of the better players in the game. In an interview with Mediaset, the 18 year-old reveals his joy for this accomplishment.
“I am very happy, thank the coach for this opportunity. This is a team where I get a lot of help from Zanetti, to Milito, to Cambiasso. Who inspires me? At Inter it is Zanetti. Outside? It is still Zanetti (laughs). I am young and I am happy for myself but especially for the team. It was an unfortunate moment and finding three points is very important.
“Debuting in Serie A is something very emotional. I was able to stay calm thanks to the other two matches in Europa League. Today, I felt less tension because I had already experienced previous matches. We have a good team. We are united and believe that we can do good things. My role? I find myself doing well in the midfield in front of the defense where I can make plays.
“This is truly an unforgettable evening. I want to thank everyone from my teammates, to the coach and to Inter management. Who is my idol? To be honest, I have a Trezeguet poster but I am not a Juventino, I just like him.”
