NEW YEAR BRINGS ROCCHI IMMEDIATELY TO INTER

IS LODI THE HEIR OF WES?

Tomorrow the striker will have a medical, on the field by the 2nd.

And with the help of the Argentinians, even Schelotto could arrive.

For the summer, Inter to follow Saponara: a challenge with Juve.

The only tool that can facilitate constant communication in the world is the web with Lotito (in Cortina), Rocchi (Rome), his manager (Milan), Tare (Albania), Branca and Ausilio (Abu Dhabi), all interconnected. Or we  can just wait until next year or just in a few hours when Inter and Lazio will have final contacts for Rocchi in the black and blue shirt. The striker, now at 95%, will close 2012 as a Lazio player but will open a new year in 2013 training a little bit North. Today, the Lazio captain will be in Formello to define last final details and then on January 2, Rocchi will be at Pinetina after his arrival to the city and also the medical scheduled on New Year’s Day. The agreement between Inter and Lazio is a small compensation between 400 to 500 thousand euros and sending documation by fax would be enough to make everything official. Meanwhile on the web where in some cases, you can learn more about the details of the deal. On Twitter, Fabio Parisi, player’s agent, defines Rocchi as “Strama’s first choice”  which invited responses from one Inter supporter who is not too enthusiastic of this deal.

Lodi, Schelotto and Fernando The idea of Francesco Lodi, born in 84, Catania midfielder, is still there. Inter are interested in the formula of loan with right to purchase something that isn’t exactly pleasing the team in Sicily. Catania would like to make about 6-7 million euros for their player. Another idea is Ezequiel Schelotto. With the same formula, especially in case of the transfer of Jonathan, the Nerazzurri could go back to the Argentinian winger of Atalanta. Atalanta seem to be finally convinced of letting go the Italian-Argentinian midfielder and just like any club, they want to make money immediately. On the trail of Schelotto is Sampdoria but Schelotto has excellent relationship with the Argentinians of Stramaccioni and that could make a difference. Inter and Atalanta will need to find an agreement on the formula of this transfer, one that can satisfy both clubs. Lastly, we are still sticking with the same theme here: loan with right to purchase. Inter could make a call to Porto in order to have another Guarin type deal. If Paulinho becomes too prohibitive for January, Fernando, in fact, is the favorite with Meireles as alternative (“I want to change scenery,” said the Portuguese who later retracted the comment).

What will Sneijder do? All strategies, with relative to available cash, depend on the sale of Sneijder whose situation is in stand-by at least until January 2nd. Then, we can expect Wes to return to Italy and address the issue of this contract. Inter are still waiting for a response on the proposed revision of contract which is lower than what the Dutch playermaker is making. Without an agreement, all parties will discuss again the possibility of an outright sale. Note: only then Sneijder will be put on the market. The most likely destination seems to be England with Liverpool in pole position but there are also Tottenham and Manchester United. Not to exclude the Germans (Schalke 04) unless Sneijder decides to consider the possibilities of Los Angeles with the L.A. Galaxy.

Talent In the summer, the team will start explore on other fronts: among the youngsters that have the attention of Inter is Riccardo Saponara, the talented player of Empoli who was watched yesterday by the Nerazzurri scouts in a victory in Reggio Calabria. Half of the player belongs to Parma but with the good relationship with the club of Ghirardi, Inter could focus on the other half and then leave Saponaro (also appreciated by Juventus) in Emilia.

This is new year present for Rocchi / Lazio but not Interisti..

How come you release player like Lucio, Julio Cesar and Maicon for free but you can give contract for player like Rocchi..

For me, he is not vice milito and will be like Palombo..

  • Ricardo Jimenez

The pecking order for playing up top should look like Milito, Cassano, Palacio, Rocchi.

      Pakacio, Cassano, Milito, Rocchi

  • Zselic

Milito should be some’s vice, since he scores every 10th match. Rocchi… seriously?
we were playing like a small team, now we sign players like a small team

Do Inter know there is a world outside Italy and South America??? Why are we buying up Serie A rejects or average players when we can get players from outside who are much younger and will cost much less??? Rocchi as a back-up is agreed, but we must definitely get someone like Bobbadilla in the summer. @zselic:disqus is right in saying that Milito shone once, but now that fire has faded. Lewis Holtby is available on a free transfer in the summer (which means a cut-price in January) but Inter are still running behind nobodies like Lodi and Schelotto.

I don’t expect us to win the league but signing Rocchi what sort of statement are we sending out – We are better off giving some of our younger players a game and we still have Palacio, Milito, Cassano who can play up top. We should have bought G Rossi for next season as we need someone who can beat players and can dribble, 2 players of this ilk please. Good luck to Rocchi anyway.
