Javier Zanetti is not thinking of going back to Argentina. His life is in Italy, at Inter in particular, and once he stopped playing, his professional future will still be in the black and blue colors.

“I have spent half of my life in Italy and the sense of belonging to Inter is now something within me. Returning to Argentina? I always do but for holidays or anything related to the Pupi Foundation, my life is now in Italy. I know that when I am done playing, I will continue at Inter in a role of a director, it’s all done. I will always return to Argentina but my life is in Italy.

“My family, in this sense, supports me in anything and everything. My children grew up here, Inter have given me everything in terms of my professional career and also my personal life. I will always return to my country but my future will be in Italy. My wife and I have spent a lifetime here and my professional career has already been decided and it will be at Inter. In all these years, I have always been happy and I want to continue like that.”

of course your life lies at Inter, but please just give some youngster space to play. and if you could read this, also tell cambiasso the exact thing. we love you guys, but your age cant fool anyone

Some time we dont know what we like/need untill we miss it.
When Inter were winning every body (almost) said/think we didnt need Wes but now almost every body wants Wes to stay and help Inter.
Youngstars will do learn from seniors not instead of them.

Zanetti has said he is the first person to step away as soon as he thinks he is taking more than he is giving. and I assure you, if you watch any Inter games, you know how vital he is. Cambiasso’s performances have fallen off in the last few years, so that is warranted, but Zanetti has seemed to stay the same, if not, in some aspects, get better with age. Nah I hope Zanetti keeps playing a further 3-4 years, although its very likely he retires at the end of this one…which will be very hard to take.
