Andrea Stramaccioni was delighted with Inter’s 3-1 victory against Partizan on Thursday as it gave the Nerazzurri their tenth consecutive victory in all competitions. Rodrigo Palacio scored a brace while Fredy Guarin added another before Partizan scored a late goal, putting the Nerazzurri through to the next round of the Europa League.
“Ten consecutive victories represents an important statistic and are indicative of the character and strong mentality of these players,” Stramaccioni told inter.it. “We must remain with our feet on the ground. In the first half we were looking to manage the match, while we looked to push the play in the second. In my opinion, Jonathan played a great match today as he contained Markovic. Silvestre had a focused performance and even Livaja played great. Handanovic had some great saves.
“Now they are more at ease knowing that they have qualified but we want to go through in first and so we will continue to play like Inter. The victory that changed things? A loss, the one against Siena. There we saw what these men are made of. Now we must look ahead and think about the match against Atalanta, a match that is very difficult.”
