Handanovic: 6
Took off in a flash on Marchese’s shot in the first half and then one simple release to punch the ball over Legrotagglie in the area from a right cross.

Ranocchia: 7
Another performance worthy of… the national team. It was up to him to solve the most intricate situations just a few steps from the white lines. Then he also hit the post…

Samuel: 6.5
In the first half, he was acting as the launching pad for the forwards, showing soft feet and vision of play. Then the situation changed and he only cared about Bergessio.

Juan Jesus: 6
He must guard the area where Catania were less dangerous. Barrientos could not break through and Pablo Alvarez didn’t push too much. And so he played the game without being extraordinary.

Obi: 6
He thought that he could be more involved in the attack on the wing but instead, after 20 minutes, he found himself on the left chasing a quick Gomez. An essential sacrifice for tactical balance.

Mudingayi: 5.5
Showed the rustiness of the long period of inactivity. Always looking for immediate support and running to cover as long as he can still breath but did not have the quality to become the focal point of the midfield.

Guarin: 6
Brought vigor to the team.

Cambiasso: 7
The assist for Cassano was a masterpiece of idea and execution. It was also him who crossed for Ranocchia who then hit the post. We’re wondering why Strama does not see him as a playmaker.

Zanetti: 6.5
A little bit high on the left, then as right back, same determination, same ability to slip into spaces. Eternal youth and enthusiasm.

Palacio: 7
Before his goal, he played with tactical intelligence and liveliness. At the end, a goal that is worthy of a standing ovation.

Milito: 6.5
Started to play in the second half thanks to being in good condition. Provided timely and accurate passes to Alvarez and Palacio.

Gargano: 6
With him in the midfield instead of the “defender” Obi, the team turned itself into a 4-4-2 because Zanetti knows how to make the best of the wing. The midfield then also become more rational.

Alvarez: 5
He just blew two chances. First was formed by his good dribbling, the second was on perfect pass of Milito. Start practicing with the right foot no?

Cassano: 7.5
Playmaking and goals: he is the soul and also the top scorer of a team that strongly wanted him and the one that is in his heart. The next challenge is to hold for 90 minutes.

Stramaccioni: 6.5
Was able to transform tactics correctly between the two halves. Now he must find a… Pirlo who can support the vibrant trident that we all saw at work yesterday.

Overall: 7
Fourth victory consecutively and with a spectacular trident.

No need Pirlo-like, just find the best way to utilize Sneijder/Coutinho/Alvarez. They are really smart and creative. And we may need to start to think about a new poacher.

thats right we need a poacher instead of using milito-palacio-cassano to somehow pull the strings!
I don’t mean that we played bad, in fact it was a successful 2nd half for us and strama did mention it himself but in the 2nd half we were playing 4-3-3!!!

We’ve waited a long time for a deep lying playmaker to help Sneijder in creating chances, but now that we have several flair players and finally a true fantasista in Cassano, its not as necessary as before. If Sneijder does leave, it may be necessary to find someone who can help pull the strings from midfield, as Cuchu is getting older and our other central midfielders are all destroyers. If Wes stays, ith so many creative players (even Milito has become more of a ball player than poacher) we may just need a true #9. A Llorente, Villa, Dzeko, Huntelaar type player who will finish the chances created by the attacking mids. Rossi is a true possibility, but he’s a coin toss as to how he’ll be once he’s back, he was a true clinical finisher a couple years back, so if he can bring that form back, maybe, but that leaves us a bit short height-wise in attack. We’ll see, I trust Strama more than ever after the last few games.

michael,,, you are wrong strama doesnt see chucu as playmaker, if you were watching him frequently, he is given a more of free move at midfield…he can go left, back, middle, right…more versatile then he used tp play tactically even at mou era….and with team mates like gargano, guarin, or even mundingayi at central mid, he is more flexible as free pkaymaker with deep function start from inter def, and even he do it from the wing….he’s got his confident back…..this is the real esteban cambiasso we know
