Three-Man Defense Against Chievo With Ranocchia, Chivu and Juan

Changes are coming in the defense of Inter. After the embarrassing loss to Siena last Sunday, Andrea Stramaccioni is actively looking for new solution(s) in order to give an identity to this club. According to multiple reports, it is very probable that we could have a defense of three men already against Chievo tomorrow night. With the return of Chivu, the Romanian defender could team up with the pair of Ranocchia and Juan Jesus in the defense. Pereira and Zanetti would act as left and right midfielders with Cambiasso, Guarin and Sneijder as central midfielders.

      I would guess chivu will be deployed as a ball playing defender which might work out ok. We will need guarin back to his best though to protect zanetti’s side as in recent games zanetti has been struggling to track players

        what game have u been watching we have never conceded a goal the side zanetti plays the opposition always play the opposite side to him

          against rubin particularly as karadeniz consistently had space down our right and when zanetti didn’t track him he eventually drew a foul from jonathan for the peno

      this looks like 5-3-2 when defending.. against Chievo we have 7 defensive players on the field.. Oh God why.

        The same goes for Juve and Napoli. They also field 7 defensive players. 3 defenders + 2 fullbacks and 2 midfielders (Napoli:Inler Behrami, Juve even 3 midfielders :Pirlo Vidal Marchisio). It all about running these days in football. And in Inter Cassano Milito and Sneijder do not run especially in the defensive phase. That’s why inter are left uncoverd in midfield cuz Cambiasso and Guarin had do cover wing positions vs Chievo and they left Gargano alone against 2 Chievo players all the time in the center. I think we are more covered like this but lets see how it goes.

    Im not liking this idea here. Its funny how when Gasperini employed the 3 man defense, everyone got on him so fast but when Strama does it everyone is like eh lets see lol. Strama is great but…i think we need to a) play Pereira and Zanetti as true LB and RB respectively while Sneijder needs to played way up as a true playmaker and let either Guaro or Gargano connect the play and give the ball to him. He plays better when he doesnt have to cover back, its a fact

    We will not win any trophy for years if we don’t improve the defense. That’s easy to talk, hard to walk. Chivu is aging, samuel is fcking slower than ever after his last injury, and silvestre is just like a garbage like he used to be at Palermo last year. The key is at Juan and Ranocchia. Strama should pair both of them regularly and let them find their chemistry. Another solution? get new defender at the winter transfer, and don’t play deadwoods like Silvestre and Samuel until they improve their levels. And for kids who keep saying that Zanetti should be dropped off from the squad, please shut your mouth. Il capitano won’t go anywhere, he can play whenever and wherever he wants to play. He is 39 years old, but he is our best player for years, and don’t forget he is the man who gave us treble winner two years ago. Please show some respect to him.
