A game of few chances, but a game of determination. This is the kind of game that Strama’s Inter played today. It was a relatively straight forward win for the visitors even though it got off to a rough start. Torino came on strong in the opening minutes as they pushed for the early goal. However, Diego Diego, o wow. Milito unleashed and absolute screamer of a shot from about 25 yards out and it nestled in the bottom corner to make it 0-1 Inter and silenced the home fans. The rest of the first half was relatively quiet and chances were scarce apart from a fine save from Handanovic. Then, the second half brought Torino back as they hit Inter with wave after wave. After some tremendous defending and a simply amazing reflex save from Handanovic, Inter struck the final blow. A great one-two between Pereira and Alvarez sent the later down the left flank where he whipped in a great ball that was left by both Milito and Cambiasso for Cassano to control, turn and score! The last few minutes were very relaxed and little happened as Inter won the game relatively comfortably.
Player Ratings are below:
Handanovic 7.0: A great game from our new keeper as he made some terrific and vital saves.
Jonathan 6.0: A decent display from him, looked strong but had to be subbed off at halftime due to an injury.
Ranocchia 7.5: A sterling display from the much improved Italian. He always looked to be a step ahead of his man and had some nice touches too.
Juan Jesus 8.5: A man of the match performance. What a game, an absolutely amazing display from Juan who looked so composed at the back; very strong as well.
Nagatomo: A good outing for the regular full back who moved around the pitch well and looked to have gotten stronger.
Zanetti: A consistent display as ever from El Capitano who shepherded the play well.
Guarin: A good game from Guaro again as his tackling was as strong as ever; still looking for that 40 yard goal.
Cambiasso 7.0: An imposing showing for El Cuchu who looked like the Cambiasso of 2009 as he directly play well and linked the defense and attack.
Pereira 6.5: Another consist display from the newest singing as he got forward well and put in some nice balls; still yet to settle though it seems.
Sneijder 7.0: A wonderfully controlled game from Sneijder who opened up play so well and played a part in the first goal.
Alvarez 6.5: Came on and looked a little out of sorts at first but soon found hid dribbling feet as he set up the second goal.
Cassano: Looked a little off as well but that didn’t stop him from being well positioned to finish with aplomb for Inter’s 2nd goal.
All in all, a good game from the lads!
