Samuele Longo, after a good season at the youth level in Inter Primavera with Stramaccioni first and then Bernazzani, is now at Espanyol on a one-year loan to play with continuity, something that perhaps he would not find at Inter. Here is the exclusive interview with FC Inter News about his decision.
Samuele, you were deemed as the vice-Milito but now instead…
“I left Inter to gain experience and also because I preferred to play with a certain continuity but everything was done calmly in agreement with the club and my agents.”
Yet you were one of the protagonists in pre-season.
“I was feeling great with great teammates and a great coach around me but then at the end of August, I chose otherwise. That’s what happened and I think it’s the right choice.”
Why did you choose Spain?
“There are many champions of all of sports but specifically in football and I only hope to learn from all points of view: human, sport, social, and culture.”
You scored a goal right away.
“Too bad though because my goal was not enough for my team to win. We lost actually and it was just a small satisfaction.”
Inter, after the victory in Pescara, suffered a bad loss to Roma.
“But they are a strong group led by Zanetti and a great coach. They’ll rise again soon and recover the lost time.”
