This is by far the worst game by Guarin that I have seen. The guy couldn’t do anything right. Made horrendous decisions throughout all game long and his passes never found their target. Everyone was bad and average with the exception of Palacio, Pereira and Gargano.

Overall bad performance by the team and we have two weeks to swallow this one. Hopefully we can come up with something.

The first true test for Andrea Stramaccioni and the boys is tomorrow night against Roma at the Giuseppe Meazza. Inter are coming from a big 3-0 win at Pescara and the Nerazzurri with a convincing fashion while for Zeman’s Roma, it was just a disappointing 2-2 draw at the Olympic stadium against Catania.

But let’s go back to Inter and their goalkeeping situation. Samir Handanovic was not called up and he has not trained in group ever since his knee surgery a few weeks back. Therefore, Luca Castellazzi is expected to start. The real chest piece of Andrea Stramaccioni is Alvaro Pereira who could already make his Inter debut on Sunday night. “Pereira is fine, he trained with us during the week and he is ready,” said the Inter coach. The Uruguayan and Nagatomo will be battling out for that starting position on the left side with Zanetti on the opposite wing. Yesterday, Strama used the Japanese as left back but Pereira could be used in the midfield immediately at the start or during the game to give Cambiasso a breather (has played all 90 minutes in five matches so far). The one certain is Ranocchia, with Silvestre as favorite over Samuel for the other starting center back position.

There is one doubt in the attack however. Will Strama choose Palacio or Cassano? Yesterday, next to Milito was the Bari born player (Cassano) but Strama did not need to test the duo of Milito and Palacio for their understanding with one another. We are leaning towards Cassano because Palacio played for all 90 minutes on Thursday while Cassano was sacrificed after the red of Castellazzi.

    Reason behind playing still an offensive game is that u can only knock out Roma if you out play them offensively otherwise it’s Roma’s history that they will keep coming at you but if you keep hitting them they play like pussies .. Remember Inter Vs Roma recent encounters??

    I think there are too much risks in using 4-2-3-1, as you all can see, Guarin REALLY loves to move forward, with 3 men midfield, there are cuchu and Gargano to cover the backline, but with 4-2-3-1? too dangerous i say, its better to field cuchu gargano then..I think…but at least i wanna see just for once maybe the results will be different..

            It’s not about who play on what ground, but who is more suit to play on that ground… remember how Mourinho made our field dry and didn’t cut the grass when we play against Barca? so Barca’s short pass won’t work there..

        this what i can see from last night show :
        1. stramaccioni basically defeated by a more experienced coach. he undisputedly has no idea to take on zaman in term of tactic last night. and strama’s preference of player is dissapointing.
        2. give juan a chance to play. silvestre so far is inconsistent. send nagatomo on the bench. play pereira oun our next match. even il capitano when he looks tired an out of form need to be replaced. just give jonatah a chance. he played well against vaslui. i hope chivu and samuel can find their good form to accompany rano
        3. mudingayi during pre season was better than cambiasso. let gargano set the passing and flow the ball in front of defence. the guy is very cal and inteleigent with the ball in his feet. guarin is better to be a pure DM.
        4. milito should start from the bench. palacio is more complete player than milito. i really hate the idea of fuckin VICE MILITO. so far it sounds disgusting!!!. i prefer cassano, sneijder, an coutinho to play behind palacio. perhaps it;s too offensive, reducing our balance. but it’s worth to try. team like arsenal, madrid, end even catania play with only 2 DM.
        forza inter!!! NO MORE FUCKIN GLORORIFICATION. we dont need to aim for scudetto. CL is more reasonable give more calmness psicologiacally

        No, Nagatomo was all over the place (not in a good way) and once he had to defend he seems to forget how to do it. Anyways, my biggest disappointment (again) is in our defense, they were literally caught napping the whole time and clearly weren’t able to cope with roma’s quick attack. We need Juan to play instead of silvestre because that guy just died after the first half…

      Nagatomo was not horrible. He and Pereira took good care of the left wing for the majority of the game.

      Silvestre had a bad game and Cambiasso was useless. He didn’t do one single good thing when he came on.

    before everyone complains, it was the Tactics which cost us the game, Long balls failed 90% of the second half! We should know better and Milito played horrendously , Palacio should start over him in the meantime till he grabs form again

      I agree, I don’t get why we played long ball? it’s such a lousy tactic and we get dispossessed really easily! However, we did play well during the first 10-15 mins of the second half..everything changed after perreira got subbed for cambiasso.

    veryone looks like shit except gargano and pereira. strama is just another wayward (what the fuck di he think to keep choosing milito as number one striker). milito is not much better than many strikers.now he should realize how it feels to face a good side. 3 official home matches, 2 loses, i draw. we should play palacio rather than milito. fuck!!

        Well obviously he was bad because the entire team played horribly. How do you expect one guy to thrive if others flopped?! DM and DEF not coordinating well, we have a free ride in silvestre, and long ball clearly did not work. Everything went really bad but I am satisfied with Pereira (at least there is a good point coming out of a shit game)

    cassano shoud not have been replaced. milito has to be benched. stop playing cambiasso. keep nagatomo out of starting line up. guarin has week mentality and has no idea by keep trying to shoot. the mistake not on the defender. today we lose because of our midfielders. too many spaces, no marking at all!..i hpe strama learn from it. maybe i just overrate him. i hope i’m wrong..i really hate this defeat. we play so fuckin awful!

      Cassano was replaced because he is not ready to play 90 minutes yet because he’s not fully match fit, it was not a tactical decision. I agree that our midfielders had a poor game though.

    now, where are fans who told me that we didn’t need a new solid defender instead of using Silvestre? four goals conceded against mediocre teams at our home ground, and three goals more from Roma. Great defense, huh? So you can lick Silvestre’s ass all day long this year. I’ve been watching Palermo’s games last year, and he was the good reason why Palermo’s defense was the worst at Serie-a last year.

    We need to try Rano-Juan in central defense, I don’t see any other options… Samuel is too old, Silvestre and Chivu are too error prone. Their experience doesn’t bring much use anyway.

    Really disappointing. I thought at 1-0 and 1-1 we were dominating the game so I was hopeful but i don’t know what happened after that. Where to start? Guarin’s passing was the worst that I’ve seen from him. Rannochia was wonderful until the Osvaldo goal then it all went downhill. I was really disappointed at Strama for taking out Gargano because it ruined the balance. He should have taken out Milito for Couti, and moved Palacio to center foward with Wes and Cou behind him. Cambiasso was awful..I honestly don’t even think he should be used as a substitution. On the plus side, Pereira + Cassano + Gargano were great…too bad all three were taken out of the game. Silvestre=bad

      You’re absolutely right. Strama fucked up badly. Take out Milito and bring in Coutinho, then move palacio to striker. Silvestre was responsible for all 3 goals. Still a mystery how Castellazzi was beaten on the third goal. Milito was god awful today. I don’t think I’ve seen him so bad. Even in the preseasons and uefa cup, he has been really disappointing.

    Tactics- Free flowing ground passing, Long passes within the perimeters of the opposing half and one two passes with the triangle 3 attackers, Defence should be rough and physical like how we played it against Roma in the first half.

    Formation- Should remain the 4-3-2-1

    There’s too many space in Inter area thar roma can exploit, 3 man midfield in perreira-gargano-guarin can’t work well because their stand too far each other when defending, an attacking also. That makes our formation become 4-1-2-1-2 with 2 wing man (perreira-guarin), not 4-3-1-2 or 4-3-2-1 with 3 man midfield. next game, if we still want this 3 man midfield, i suggest cambiasso-gargano/mudingayi/guarin-guarin/JZ4 in 3 man midfield, and in the full back perreira on the left and JZ4 on the right or we can play with jonathan/nagatomo on the right if JZ4 comes up as a midfield. I think if we start with this, there will be no too much space left behind in our playing area so we can combine much better up front. Forza INTER!!!

    i dont think the problem is on the defender, our main problemis on the midfield. guarin is totally horrible. milito is very poor. zanetti is too tired. why didnt just play jonathan as righ back? pereira instead nagatomo? and of course palacio intead milito? i think strama is just another coach. he needs to be brave to give trust to other players!!!

    guarin play like a tuttle, if anyone of you said nagatomo played badly then all of you were blind. he cover so well in the left with pereira. 2 of 3 goal came from the right. so who responsible on the right zanetti, guarin and silvestre. milito was unlucky because burdisso and castan played so well.

    Very disappointing match. Most disappointing players were Guarin and Silvestre. We have to remember that it was just the second match of the season so don’t push the panic button.

    Strama prove his still need time to become great coach. his tactics so bad. they keep doing long stupid pass despite that our players looks tired after match against Vaslui (remember 10 men?). Guarin as a DM = awfull, always on the front. Sneijder out of creativity. i prefer Il Capitano in DM position, as full back, he didn’t make much cross. but in this match he doing the best like usual. Silvestre = he is loan player, so please trust our real player like Juan J maybe?

    the only thing i wanna say is that we need to play 4 – 2 – 3 -1 we have to attack you dont win games by waiting!! we need only two battling mids gargano or guarin or cambiaso… but we need to play 3 attacking because we are so narrow upfront! always zanetti and nagatomo have to go all the way up! and silvestre is not the next big thing hes very average! play juan and rano!!

    I’m furious the way we played. But i will not put the blame on the whole team to be very honest. for me Flop of the match is Silvestre + Milito combined..

    Our defense was good but the way they allowed those three goals is just childish. Just like school team defense. How can you let some one stand in there in your 6 yards while the corss is on? how can you let a lone forward run through two centeral defenders knowing the though-ball is totally ON !!! and the last goal Silvestre just let him go thinking this ball is going out of play i mean Come onnnnnnn for Godsake…

    and Lastly for Milito most of the time he was in good position to atleast have a go at the goal but he was too hesitant and personally i believe he should have scored atleast ONE goal off those balls delivered to him but i don’t know why was he too hesitant to let fly one of his trademark grass-cutter corner shots. for example like Cassano just didn’t wait for it and let it fly. Even Palacio was a bit off color but he ran his socks off for the team and lastly i don’t understand why the hell our players are so reluctant giving ball to Cou? why do they just by-pass cou specially Cambbiaso?

    Weak links today were definitely Silvestre, Guarin and our beloved Milito. And Stramaccioni putting on cambiasso for Pereira has to be one of the most retarded changes ever. I couldn’t believe Strama made that sub.

    He could have stick to what worked when we were losing against Vaslui and moved Palacio to striker and take out Milito for Coutinho do he can feed Palacio.

    Silvestre can be blamed for the three goals. First he want following the scorer. Second goal, he let Osvaldo through. Third, he couldn’t deal with Marquinho. Anyone saw that idiotic diving header aat he gave to a Roma player that he wasted?

    As much as we all love Milito, i think its time we admit that he can’t cut it anymore. He had to be spoonfed chances or he can’t do anything. His control, his passing, awareness are now shabby. We really should have gotten a vice-milito. Cos all we have left is Livaja and Palacio and ill hate to know what happens if one of them gets injured.

    we’re totally messed up on this game. i know that we’re so average tonight but sometimes you have to win even you’re in average condition. what we can spot on tonight’s game :
    1. our player looked tired after thursday match
    2. strama has to be brave to change the player that looked horrible on the field. why he cant change milito who were not performed well tonight?
    3. milito’ movement was great. but his control and accuracy were bad. maybe we can start palacio for the next game.
    4. silvestre were so sluggish. better start with juan jesus or even chivu. call back caldirola in january. rano was ok.
    5. guarin was horrible tonight. better improve on the match
    6. we cant win at meazza for 3 official matches. are we curse for leaving meazza in 4 years? are we curse for having new stadium? :/

    but, it’s still the second match of the season. with international break, our squad must improve and regain its form, including players that back from injury like alvarez, handanovic, chivu, obi.

    The negativity in this forum is worse than the game. If you watched the game, you would have seen that we created so many more chances than Roma. If we had our #1 keeper in goal, I seriously doubt that Roma scores the 2nd or 3rd goals. We just aren’t finding that last ball, but we controlled the play until Cambiasso came on and we went inexplicably to the long ball.

      Yeah, i agree we play quite well… but only in the first half…
      About goalkeeper, I don’t think goalkeeper will be play well if the defenders are playing badly… look at Cech… and even a stupid goalkeeper, sometime looked good if the defenders playing well… look at Valdes…If our defender still play that way, i don’t think handanovic will makes a significant difference..

      I completely agree with you, when Inter lose a game the negativity in this forum is worse than the game. We blame it on strama, management and the players. When we win. We praise them all. I mean seriously guys we’re just at the beginning of the season and it’s only one game. Not to mention this is a new project. Come on have a little faith in them.

        If you watched the game, we were in control almost throughout the game until cambiasso came on just like @LoPo said. We definitely need to work on our defense. IMHO, Roma’s 1st goal is because the lack of communication and coordination between our defenders and maybe our midfielder. The 2nd goal, again i think its because the same reason as the 1st plus castelazzi rushing out to get the ball. And the 3rd its completely castelazzi’s fault.

    WHY DIDENT JUAN START THIS GAME? Silvestre who? he sucks, and is a good SUB for Rannochia.. Perreira back on left back, not mitfield.. Obi and Alvarez has to get back soon.. and in the starting 11.. Same with Coutinho, why is he on the bench? we are destroyin our you players for whoo? Cassano? he did one thing right today, it was to shoot intro a defender and the ball went in.. Come one Inter, with this kind of play we will end up like last season.. 5-6 place!     We NEED Papadopoulos…….. he is 20 yrs old and the beastiest defender i’ve seen in yrs, plus falcao or neymar wouldnt bad for next yrs mercato… but schalke’s defender needs to be brought in now!! and i dont know what i’ll do if moratti and branca deside to buy silvestre… he BETTER leave ASAP.

      I am from greece and i know how he plays with schalke and with national team…He is great an dyoung but at the moment we got 2got CBs Rano and Juan But instead of Silvestre i prefer Papadopoulos for sure!!!

    Ok Strama…. Grow some…. I would have taken this loss a lot better without Cambiasso and Silvestre. Play our youth pls. When Alvo returns play Milito as vice Palacio. Our midfield is amazing esp with Paulinho coming. Spend big on 1 or 2 defenders and a CF only next season. We will be top 5 in Europe in 2 years (or 1 year I hope).

    I wants to ask: what has become the football philisophy of Inter??? While all other teams are trying to play passing games, all we do is high balls, with Milito doing nothing more than shoot at the ‘keeper even if he is onside. Seriously, i grew tired of watching Milito get offside everytime someone launched a high ball. High balls are good if they are once or twice in a game, not when they are your only attack!!!

    I believe what I saw last night was lack of fitness from our side. The Europa league had a lot of effect against us. We didnt have enough energy to run at the last 15 minutes that was sad to see.

    Cambiasso must start in matches this important.

    Gargano didnt suck but he isnt the reference point that Cambiasso is when we get the ball. The guys didnt know who to play it to and thus all we got was long balls towards Milito. This in turn made Sneijder completely useless.
    And NAGATOMO ISNT A FUCKING STARTER

    I seriously believe that we have width issue, its not completely stram’s fault he’s just got his full squad without having “number 11″ he is forced to test the newcomers, his major card last night was perreira!!!! I personally think that alvarez would perform better in that position: by putting perreira for nagatomo and putting him in capitino’s spot ( if you guys remember our 4-4-1-1 against ac milan last year) by adding gorgano and either of coutinho/cassano/palacio we can expect a more dynamic and fluid inter than the grande inter side of 2010!

    Ok… For me, if Inter win, it doesn’t represented that we are really that strong.. Inter still in phase of finding rhythm and shape of playing, even Inter still can’t find a fix formation. A very beginning stage

    From the game i can conclude that:

    1. Our back line still far from gratify and they fail to give a safe feeling. Silvestre was the worst one, 3 of his main error ended up with goals for the visitor.. I wonder why, is it that hard to play Juan rather that no. 6 guy coach….??

    2. Inter really need another striker, why…?? Not because if Milito injury (the very dramatic case ever made by fans), but because we need another option in attack. Look, when milito play out wide, no one fill his position in center, and we should play with 2 striker since we play with 3 central midfielder, a playmaker who act as a winger, and a 2nd striket who act as a winger too.. A profile names like benzema, lewandowski, barrios, will be a perfect fit.. But i think profile like falcao or cavani were the best but unlikely to come..

    3. A campaign for scudetto remain a dream until Inter can find stability and fix formation…

    1) We need samir back Asap i think the 1st and 2nd goals he would v saved them.
    2) We need juan to Replace Silvestre i dont think Silvestre is ready maybe later he would be.
    3)peirera must play as left defender.
    4)palacio must play instead of milito we need speed Infront.
    5)Stramaccioni must Know how to react when the team is losing.
    6)Stramacicioni must know how to rotate players to compite in El and seria otherwise ill give priority for seria a and dont waste effort and stamina in El players are humans not machines two big matches in 4 days offcourse you expect this to happen.

    i personally think that us fans should calm down.. altho silvistre sucked todayand juan jesus should be bossing that other cb spot beside ranno..it is normal to have suffer something like this.. i’d rather it happens early on the season rather than late when it is late and decisive.. now we can always fix such errors…. FORZA INTER we can catch up its only a week

    since the days of eto leaving this is our best attacking team yet however team confidence is built from having a solid defense because when the defense is shaky it psychilogically destabilizes the hole team. Strammacioni reminds me of leonardo, good going forward but shit at the back. this is why mourinho has more success, he builds the team stradegy starting from back to front. time to do the same strama

    My Analysis of the game:-

    Strama was not bad with his tactics. Our team played well in patches and were in control of the game during those patches that we had. some good link up play and some good defense as well. All of a sudden, strama said, our team fell asleep. Our defense did bad but let’s not put all the blame on the defense as our DMs let the opponent made the moves and gave them too much space. DMs are supposed to react quickly and the problem that was pretty evident was again lack of supply from the midfield to wider players ( which we don’t have ).

    Lastly our style of play was “wait-make a move and follow” which against teams like Roma is a bad idea as for that idea u need most of ur players hovering around in the midfield which can be easily taken advantage of on a quick-counter attack and we saw that happening when inter were rolling the ball around the Roma final third and mid pitch. Against teams like Roma we need to have a direct approach with 20% of long balls and 40% of wide plays and 40% of center play running direct at the opponent knowing they are weak in defense. ATLEAST YOU PROTECT COUNTER ATTACKS this way.

    We need Juan and Rano to pair up i would love to see them getting failed again and again rather seeing Silverstre failing every single game. Jaun and Rano will gain hell of experience and will oneday come up good. And lastly i guess Periera and Nagatomo playing together was just because Strama wanted to rest Cambiasso because he was the only mid field player who played all previous games 90 minutes. it was NOT a good idea to injured ur only available and 100% mid field player. so it was pretty obvious that he will stay on bench.

    Gargano himself skipped most part of pre-season whereas Periera didn’t play any game in 3 months ( only 1 international game ) and Guarin carrying a knock (minor). Let’s not be too harsh on Strama as it was his obvious choice to play unfit Garga + Periera + Guarin to protect his only fit DM Cambiasso ( Obi is injured and Zanetti shifted to RB ).. Cassano should start from bench in atleast 3 coming games and Cou MUST start on the left of Wes and Palacio on Right.. Milito is good enough as lone striker as he knows how to make good passes and connect play in final third.

    Let’s stay positive it was just second game of serie A. Let’s just analysis the situation. We will get our players up and running after International break. we can get them run more and get them to overcome some fatigue. gain atleast 10% stamina ..

    There’s too many space in Inter area thar roma can exploit, 3 man
    midfield in perreira-gargano-guarin can’t work well because their stand
    too far each other when defending, an attacking also. That makes our
    formation become 4-1-2-1-2 with 2 wing man (perreira-guarin), not
    4-3-1-2 or 4-3-2-1 with 3 man midfield. next game, if we still want this
    3 man midfield, i suggest cambiasso-gargano/mudingayi/guarin-guarin/JZ4
    in 3 man midfield, and in the full back perreira on the left and JZ4 on
    the right or we can play with jonathan/nagatomo on the right if JZ4
    comes up as a midfield. I think if we start with this, there will be no
    too much space left behind in our playing area so we can combine much
    better up front. Forza INTER!!!

    its just one match please my friends,lets not be harsh,Inter will come good,when we won our first match we were happy and all that,now lets rally behind the team and wish them good luck,Silvestre ddidnt have a good day,so was cambiasso but he always plays better.Milito is a Great striker…messing up one game is not bad,Palacio is a super sub,Coutinho should start games,that boy is future inter material,Ranocchia should keep playing like that,thats what i know,please give Juan Jesus Chance he will be perfect
