22-Player List Versus FC Vaslui: There’s Maicon!

Andrea Stramaccioni has invited the following players to tomorrow’s game against the Romanians of FC Vaslui at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Goalkeepers: 12 Castellazzi, 27 Belec, 32 Cincilla;

Defenders: 4 Zanetti, 6 Silvestre, 13 Maicon, 23 Ranocchia, 25 Samuel, 33 Mbaye, 40 Juan Jesus, 42 Jonathan, 44 Bianchetti, 55 Nagatomo;

Midfielders: 10 Sneijder, 14 Guarin, 19 Cambiasso, 24 Benassi;

Forwards: 7 Coutinho, 8 Palacio, 22 Milito, 88 Livaja, 99 Cassano.

The big news here is that Maicon is among those that will be available for the match. The Brazilian has been surrounded by rumors of a possible exit this transfer window. Teams like Real Madrid and Manchester City, at one time, discussed this possibility with the player’s agent Roberto Calenda. Is this a sign of him staying? Who knows…

    I hope it means he is staying. But we needed him for this game so Zanetti can play mid since Gargano is not included.
    It could also be negotiating 101, letting City know we are not desperate to sell, so “pay us the 8 million, NOW you decide to get stingy?!?!”

      Yes, Gargano and Pereira is not included and Mudingayi injured therefore Zanetti needs to play mid and Maicon will take his place at rightback! But we hope he´s staying!!

    I think the inclusion of Maicon is just to get a higher price for him from Man City. I think the most interesting inclusion is Cassano instead of Gargano since he are lacking midfielders to play in the 3 defensive positions and we certainly have enough attacking midfielders to play in the 2 positions behind Milito. Anyway, I have 100% faith in Stramaccioni.
