HAPPY MORATTI

“Cassano does everything well and now a forward.”

The president and his new Inter: “Guarin enchants, I am curious to see Alvaro Pereira. Maicon? We’ll see…”

Milan – Serenity reinforces. And the force guarantees serenity. Massimo Moratti is the proof. His working day at Palazzo Saras ended with him spending an hour at Inter headquarters. They, the board of directors, talked about everything: the numbers, balance, budget, transfer market, and of course football. And at an exit, the Inter boss wanted to discuss it. Leaving together with his vice president Rinaldo Ghelfi, he crossed his arms and wanted to discuss his new Inter. His, Branca’s, Ausilio’s and Stramaccioni’s. That of all Inter fans.

President, starting the new season like that is not bad right?

“I am very happy about the result and about this team. Really. I was very pleased on Sunday.”

Did you like Cassano?

“Very much, I liked everything about him. He played with intelligence and good sense. He played for the team.”

Plus, he served the assist to Milito for the 2-0…

“He understood security when he offered that ball to Milito. I hope he continues like this.”

Were you surprised by anyone?

“Guarin, he is so strong! He enchanted the field too, damn!”

Now it is up to Alvaro Pereira to fit in this group.

“I am curious to see him play. Everyone has spoken well about him.”

It seems that the foundation of the team is there.

“In the midfield, they have to worry about protecting the defense and then up front, they have to have fun and entertain!”

So is the incoming transfer market closed?

“There are still a few days, let’s see what can happen.”

Is there a position that you’d like to look at?

“Only in the attack, but if the opportunity presents itself…”

Is there an identikit?

“Yes, he must be two meters tall… (laughing as he gestures it with his hands). But no, there isn’t one. There is no a specific type of striker that we are looking for.”

So a target doesn’t exist?

“Let’s leave Branca and Ausilio at work. I repeat: it must be an opportunity, otherwise we stay like we are. The team is numerically in place.”

So a striker or no one?

“Well, the things we have done this summer… (smile)”

Meanwhile, the sales of Julio Cesar and Maicon on the horizon…

“Well, I think Julio Cesar’s situation is done (with OPR). Maicon? We’ll see, who among other things, is doing well at the start of this season.”

President, on the table we also have the new Chinese investors who could get 15% of the shares. Did you talk about that?

“No, not today. That meeting was not about this situation.”

Then what did you discuss?

“It was a meeting that had been scheduled for quite some time. There was some discussion of differences of the budget. Nothing to do with the shares of the club.”

Everything is all set. When, we do not know precisely. What is known however, is that yesterday all parties were at the Milan center and movements were limited to a minimum. Piero Ausilio was at Pinetina, not at Inter headquarters. While Marco Branca remained all day in his office and avoided the lunch break. He left at the end of the board of directors meeting. The meeting was attended by Rinaldo Ghelfi and Marco Fassone. Arriving late in the afternoon was also Andrea Stramaccioni. The coach remained there for an hour at headquarters to have the latest discussions regarding the transfer market with Branca and Moratti. At the end, here came the president. His smile as he said goodbye to us is worth more than a thousand words.

Michael, keep up the good work. All Inter fans like me owe you big one. We are hungry for the updated news and you are hungry of sharing them.
If any opportunity arises to me in the near future coming to Milan for an Inter home game, hope to be able to contact you or anybody in this forum.

Regarding the news, I really hope Maicon will stay. Good Luck to Longo. Give Livaja more playing time.
Maybe more investments (or replacements) on the scouting team, so we can be like Newcastle or Arsenal or Udinese or Dortmund. These clubs are doing good in signing hidden talents like Lewandowski, Kagawa, Sahin, Demba Ba, Pappis Cisse, Cabaye, Asamoah, Handanovic, Fabregas, Song, and so on. Look at Santon, he is now a starter in Newcastle, maybe one day he could return to Inter to fill in the LB (also home grown status)
