Calciomercato.com analyzes the continual trips to Brazil by Branca which, unfortunately, he always comes back with nothing.

“If these two trips are proof, perhaps Marco Branca would be best to not book any more trips by airplane.  From Villas Boas to Lucas, also Carlos Tevez, when the Inter technical director took flight from Milan, he always came back empty-handed.”

The site then adds:

“It is certainly not his fault.  For example, the demand to acquire the Sao Paulo player threw Branca away.  Moratti stalled negotiations and PSG emerged from nowhere with the usual truckload of millions of euros.  Result: goodbye Lucas.  But if there is no money then you cannot ask for miracles.  Sure, the technical director has some responsibility.  He apparently, does not have the great appreciation from the players.  He is not loved by the fans especially after the farewell of Oriali.”

Concludes with a suggestion.

“In this technological age in emails, phones, social networks, we would give Branca a suggestion: no more flights, they bring bad luck.”

    Kill Branca!

  • fendy

LOL.. this is a kind of article I rarely read at this website, and to be honest it makes me laugh.
I ‘m curious whether Branca went to Brazil for some occasions to get his job done. You know what? I think he went to Copacabana Beach actually.

    • http://FedeNerazzurra.com/ Michael

Just translating what the Italian media, in this case calciomercato.com, is saying… That’s all.

      • fendy

Oh yea, I get it. It’s good article anyway.
Michael, Do me a favor please. Who was behind coutinho transfer to Inter several years ago?? Was it Oriali too? I only knew he was bought at age of 16 and landed at Milan 2 years later. At those 2 years he got the playing time he needed in his former team. Now we all know who coutinho is, a player with great potential and become a point of reference in this team. Above all, he was coming at CHEAP, right?

My point is, why Branca and Inter scouting team didn’t operate the same way like the coutinho’s was instead of wasted time on one big player and eventually get nothing?

        • http://FedeNerazzurra.com/ Michael

Running a team is a collective effort. No one deserves all credits or blame. Same goes with Branca and Oriali. It amazes me how people keep dismissing Branca when the team has success (treble season for example). Every bad signing = Branca’s fault. Decent/good signing = nothing to do with Branca. If Oriali is so great at making signings, he would be working for a team by now and not being a commentator on a Sport channel (at least this is last I heard). I’m not dissing Oriali either but just saying credits/blame should be fairly distributed.

Fans always have something to complain about. When we go for unknown players, they would complain for the lack of ambitions. When we go for big name ones, they also complain for, well like you said, wasting time on someone that we have no chance to get. Fans just cannot be pleased.

Bottom line is we have 20 some days left, hopefully more reinforcement will come to improve this team. We’ll see.

that’s i best comment i’ve read all day long.. :D
            good one micael. :D

Wow! That was a good one! :-)

        • crowbar

You got one point right: why spending all these years on Lucas although we always knew that there is know chance in buying him? Inter knew this because Sao Paolo has always had a high price tag on him. This price tag has always been much higher than what we wanted to pay. However, I don’t want to go into who to blame for this. Let’s just move on now and hope for some good signings.

In this age of football since we don’t have a lot of money, we just can’t make more move and that’s a fact.. I hate Branca but i don’t want to be blind hatters.
The failure in his job that Branca failed to increase the attractiveness and the prestige of this club because only with that we can compete more money with less money.. That was the main task for his position than just hire a players..

  • Amir

    i hate this man … He s a big stupid . i miss Oriali :(

    • http://FedeNerazzurra.com/ Michael

I’m gonna give you 100 euros, can you buy me a brand new Ferrari please?

      • neroazzurro87

So: if there is no money then you cannot ask for miracles…

        Dream on…

      • David

Exactly, why make the trip to Ferrari dealer or retailer when you only have 100 euros?

its the only way people learn to think before they speak. or so i hope..

  • branca

At least, I have fooled Moratti to pay flight ticket & other expenses, hahaha thankyou brasil

  • ahmad

this should please the branca haters club.LOL

  • http://twitter.com/aldyfu iamsuperman

Although the article is well written, we should give him appreciation as well. He did very well when Barca came and purchase Ibra 28 millions plus eto’o. Who can do that? but maybe its the time to call off Branca.

  • LaLa

I hope branca reads this…that fool

  • uta

Only wish isn’t enough to make big deals :) I think its not only brankas fault, What can you do when Mr “M.M” Lifes essence is “Money, money, money
    Must be funny
    In the rich man’s world
    Money, money, money
    Always sunny
    In the rich man’s world”

  • Dublos

I’m happy to see we ain’t the only ones that feel this way.

  • JC1isgreat

BAD LUCK OR STUPID? we just remember Orialli.. He is Genius.. the proove is Sneijder, Motta, Milito, Mourinho and also exchange between Ibra with Eto’o + big money.. We miss Orialli…

    • http://www.facebook.com/patar.hatigoran Patar Ronnie Hatigoran

The only thing that Oriali did is hire Mourinho to Inter, the player who comes after is done by mourinho himsefl and moratti support him 100%. It’s mean that Oriali duty was just offer an official bid and bring the player home because the money is already available. When mourinho in charge, it’s written in his contract that no one can interfere his transfer policy, but this time is different, no matter how good our technical director as long as no approval from the president, the deal will never happen.

  • neil

Branca is a legend. Just look at how much better we have become since his arrival! Orialli will be missed but to blame Branca for our teams failure is nothing short of ridiculous! We have had a really successful few years and after 1 year without a trophy you can’t blame him! Our new coaches didn’t deliver and our played didn’t perform to their high standards! This will be a great year and we don’t need Lucas as COUTINHO is dying to prove his worth! By the way our sporting director bought him for a ridiculous 4 million! Forza INTER, bring on Juve!

  • David

It’s Moratti’s fault for not providing the sufficient fund to make the purchases. But for this Lucas deal, it’s Branca’s fault for chasing Lucas for this long, it’s part of his job to consult the club who’s a realistic target and who’s not. Half of the mercato was wasted on this, and now we’ll have to go panic buy to acquire left-overs as other clubs have already made their moves.

  • euphonywinger

He apparently, does not have the great appreciation from the players
