It is inevitable that Samir Handanovic will be asked questions regarding Julio Cesar, one that he was bought to replace. Speaking to Sky, however, the new Inter goalkeeper ignores the potential issue with Julio Cesar.
“I think people think that way but I am not interested. We are two goalkeepers with different characteristics. This is my path but then he is the goalkeeper that has won everything with Inter. I start from scratch, this is another year, this is another Inter.
“With Julio Cesar, we have a good relationship. I see him everyday and he is a good person. He knows that I am doing my job and there is no problem with that even if he stays here.
“How would a goalkeeper feel in this situation? I don’t know, ask him. I don’t know what happened in those five years and I am not interested.”
