Inter president Massimo Moratti spoke to journalists present at the game between Inter and Trentino (6-0 victory with goals from Milito’s hattrick, Coutinho, Cambiasso and Garritano) on several topics including the transfer market.
“We are focusing on the transfer market. There are a few outgoing transfers to be realized then we will see what Stramaccioni needs. And naturally, he will adapt with his formation and the rest. He is very intelligent, very attentive and has sense of responsibility. He is very careful and attentive about everything.”
On the veterans players that have left the club: “For those that have gone away, they would have new opportunities so everything was done with common sense. The dismantling of Milan? I do not know but from an economic point of view, it is a good sense. From sporting perspective, if one leaves, others will come.”
Progress made to get closer to Lucas: “Yes, to move forward means to see if there is a chance to make an idea become concrete. Obviously this has to be considered carefully. If it’s meant to happen, it’ll happen. He has great ability, sometimes you need some sacrifices to achieve what you want, but we’ll see.”
Pazzini? “He has a very strong-willed character. But then there are technical and tactical necessities that can affect players to be bought or sold. Of course, there is displeasure in doing this.”
Can Sneijder really go to Russia like Eto’o? “I don’t know if it’s a risk… but it can be. However, I consider him to be quite important and decisive for Inter. Maicon? He is one of the best and we are very attached.”
Many young players in this new Inter: “Each youngster has an interesting talent for the future of the team. They are many young players here and that could create a challenge but that is part of football and I hope that we can over come this challenge.”
On the controversial red shirt: “I am not interested. I like it a lot and find it beautiful. I am willing to take responsibility since someone has to take it (laughs). There are no intentions in marketing. The response from the fans is that it is the best selling shirt.”
On Juve president Andrea Agnelli rejecting the count of the FIGC on how many Scudetti Juve have won in the past:
“There is nothing new… he will continue to say that he thinks, it is his position. 28 Scudetti are too many? Zeman is always sympathetic and a good coach.”
