When Inter of Stramaccioni lifted the cup in that afternoon in London, many have immediately and prematurely diminished the importance of this success by defining Next Generation Series as a simple tournament of invitations. But according to the numerous requests of participation by may different clubs, the tournament seems to have gained credibility, popularity and prestige. The latest team that has been accepted to participate in this upcoming edition of NGS is Juventus, an edition that has been expanded to 24 teams.
In terms of group stage opponents for Inter, rumors are pointing towards Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and Rosenborg. The defending European champions will debut against The Reds on August 16 in England. The knockout stage will begin in January of 2013 and the Final Four (semifinal matches and the final) will be played at one location in March.
